Privacy Policy

We analyze the documents you upload or paste and immediately discard them. We never store the text of your contracts, terms of service, or any other documents you submit for analysis. The only personal information we hold is your email address (for your account) and your scan history metadata (document type, risk score, date).

Account information. When you register, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not collect your name, address, or any other identifying information unless you voluntarily provide it.

Document submissions. When you upload a file, paste text, or submit a URL for analysis, that content is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing and then immediately discarded. We retain only the output: the risk score, flagged clauses, and summary. We do not store the original document text.

Usage data. We log which features you use, scan counts, and your subscription tier for billing and rate-limiting purposes.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number. Stripe may retain payment data according to their own privacy policy.

We use your information only to provide and improve The Fine Clause:

• To authenticate your account and enforce scan limits
• To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe
• To display your scan history in your dashboard
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

This is the part that matters most if you're uploading sensitive contracts: your document text is never stored on our servers.When you submit a document, it is passed to Anthropic's API for analysis and then discarded. Our servers and database hold only the analysis output (risk score, clause flags, summary).

Anthropic may process your document according to their own API data usage policies. For highly sensitive documents — M&A agreements, employment contracts with proprietary information, legal filings — we recommend reviewing Anthropic's privacy policy before submitting.

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising trackers, analytics pixels, or third-party tracking scripts. We do not use Google Analytics or similar services.

We retain your account information and scan history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your email and scan history are permanently deleted within 30 days. Document text is never retained beyond the analysis request.

You can request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account at any time by emailing us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
